Before lunch, we’ll leave San Gimignano to go to Siena, (in Siena I recommend a quick lunch on the city street to optimize the time ).
In Siena where you’ll notice an ancient atmosphere , the beautiful medieval city well preserved inside , narrow streets and squares , churches and towers, its beautiful historic centre that has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You’ll feel as if you’ve stepped back in time.

we will enter the heart of Siena,the gothic cathedral (Duomo is one of the most spectacular in Italy in full gothic style) ,but where there is the most important event is Piazza del Campo, dominated by Tower Del Mangia witness to many events in history, but the most intriguing is the “Palio” horserace, one of the most important things in the life of a Siena native. In the piazza on 2 July and 16 August there is a bareback horse race that was first recorded in 1283 . On those days mayhem takes over , “Piazza del Campo” with its strange shape of half orange, is covered with earth covering her typical red brick (To allow the horse race)
Everything will be done passionately on those days the mayhem takes over this small town we can observe local patriotism at its best and worst.
